Revamped! Yet to be seen....

I am re-organizing my blog. Something I have been meaning to do but off-late, work and home-works have kept me so very busy - good excuse for not blogging.

I have since forgotten about Hot Shots and have not been blogging for a while now until I received comments from Tanesia.

Tell you what I have been doing. When I am home, I cook, bake, sleep, read, shoot with my not so super gears - still the old Canon EOS 40D and surf the net for recipes (something I am into, right now).

This weekend my boss' HUGE office will be converted into conference room and we'll see a new revamped office, so it gives me an idea to "Revamp" my blog while we wait for Ili to create my new recipe blog.... *Hint*

Im dreaming of having my own collections of Halal Recipes of Food from all over the World, compile them and publish it. Will call it Mrs Uyopong's Recipes Courtesy of Friends from Planet Earth...too long huh?

Goodnite and sweet dreams while I continue to dream of my Recipe Book. ;-P

The Girls' Book of Success

“What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of a human being, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the wrongs of the injured.” - Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

Last nite I stumbled across an article about perfectionism. What was mentioned, if I remembered correctly is, ..."Perfectionism is a disease.." and that "perfectionists are more likely to be unhappy with their work because delegating is nearly impossible if you are a perfectionist. And they are more likely to have social problems because people mired in details cannot look up and notice the nuances of what matters to other people...." hmm how true to the core....so am I healing??!! *scratch my head*

Here's my girls' book of success; for now and more to come...I hope. You know what, Nylie has won GOLD for her 200m run and that is one achievement!! though she did not do well in her science test but hey, nobody is perfect. My advise for Nylie - we can be optimistic in whatever we do....move on and see what you can learn from it.

Ili reminded me about updating my blog and here's one for her. She is currently reading "The Girls' Book of Success", I applaud her for reading it. I personally think the book is a huge success at motivating gals like her ;-P

For my princesses, believe in yourself. Life is not a rehearsal. If you want to try something - good ones only ok..., just do it and I believe success is that every little steps you make to achieve it. I have said it many times and will say it again....I am proud to be your mummy and will always be.

A quote by Barbara Langford Davis, Financial Advisor : "As you soar to new heights in life, remember that the altitude you reach will be determined not by your aptitude, but rather by your attitude."

Sweet dreams.............*wink*

Little Artist @ Work

Dyna is getting better today....well, better off than she was yesterday. Her body temperature at 0330hrs today was 38ÂșC. BUT she is up and running as I "blog".
I'd love to stay at home and watch Dyna's, Nylie's and Ili's interesting activities but nope, currently I do not have that privilege or luxury, someday...I hope ;-P and I am optimistic about that.........
I took another day, off from work and while I am at that, I took snapshots of my little artist @ work........

Meticulous artist in the making *;-O

Dyna's ingenious way of snacking and
painting.... Multi-tasking, you say?? Oh yes...a little break wont hurt...!!

Little artist's tools and another work done!!

I'll leave you with this to ponder :

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.” ~ Ashley Smith

Off from work but NO off for this mum........

Dyna had fever this morning and I had to rush home from work, to monitor her temperature - hourly. Her temperature runs high up to 40 degrees at one stage and she fevered intermittently throughout the night. So I took a day off today and will see how tomorrow.

Picture of Dyna when she's up and running..............

Remember what I said about yesterday before Uyop left for work, he told us a hilarious story? You should have seen Uyop's expression!!

It's about how his boss told a colleague "Mr X" that "Mr X" is the 2nd most handsome guy in their department.

Being curious, "Mr X" asked his boss, "So who is the most handsome guy in this department??."

The boss replied : "All of Us!!"

Hmm, don't you think it's funny? Now, I wonder how "Mr X" feels afterwards.

I am currently accompanying Nylie who's doing her homeworks. Got to go check on Dyna too. Sweet dreams............. *;-P

Excuses......and Who Is The Most Handsome?

I told myself that I must take the photography course by April 2008 and you know what, it's April 2008 already - I have not even registered myself for the basic photography course.

But this is not really about the photography course. The point is that I create so many excuses for myself not to do what I should be doing. I know you must be thinking......."What's her excuse?"

Loads of them : The shooting location, the days the course is held, this month is just not right - the perceived activities - one too many, I will miss class.......how lame is that?

I kept that excuse chain together from the day I got my Canon EOS. In hindsight : I told myself the excuse for not going to the photography course was, all of the above but it wasn't really......it was more because I thought it's such a waste of fund when I already know how to shoot. That's what I thought.!!

Speaking of which, I am looking forward to looking at photograph of the most handsome guy at Uyop's department. Tonite, he will be using his mobile's camera to show us the guy he was talking about...one hilarious story he told us before he left for work.

Bedtime......*;-P

We Are What We Eat??

Pizzas were what we consumed today - I ate Vegetarian Pizza, perfect for my blood type - so to speak. I have been reading on, why your blood type
matters?
See, I am a Blood type A *;-P
And blood type A flourish on vegetarian diets – "the inheritance of their more settled and less warlike farmer ancestors. It is particularly important for sensitive Type As to get their foods in as natural a state as possible: fresh, pure and organic.."

What's interesting to know,..."Lose weight the right way. Better understand the development of anxiety, stress and depression in you and know how to deal with them. Feel ‘right’ in your body, your mind and your world.."

Tomato is one of the food not allowed in Blood Type A diet and that intrigues me but for those who likes tomato, you ought to know this........

Benefit and uses of tomato.
Several medical books and journals have described medicinal uses of tomato. These are enumerated as under for ready reference:
Tomato juice keeps the blood stream alkaline and thus maintain a high resistance to disease. It is very rich in iron and potash salts.
Half-ripe tomatoes offer an excellent remedy in all sorts of liver troubles. Tomatoes stimulate torpid liver and are very good for dyspepsia, diarrhoea and dysentery.
Being a rich source of vitamin A, it is a dependable preventive against eye troubles.
Tomato is a nervine tonic. It is very useful in all sorts of nervous disorders.
As it is a rich source of vitamin C, it is very valuable in scurvy.

Till then I hope to stick to moderations in everything I put into my mouth...hehe *wink*

Another Reality of Life - The Life and Death of .......

Was browsing thru the net when I stumbled a productive insight of what I think is worth sharing and what was to follow if you read on is an article - The Life and Death of Kevin Carter, even sadder the end of it all, if only you'd ponder...........but my princesses think nothing of those pictures ;-( ...hmmm

worldstoriesinpictures: ANOTHER REALITY OF LIFE-HOW SAD TO LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS

Valuable lessons from our beloved Prophet Muhammad. Quotes -
“Do you love your creator? Love your fellow-beings first.”
“He who helpeth his fellow-creature in the hour of need, and he who helpeth the oppressed, him will God help in the Day of Travail.”

Take care - Love you all ;-P

Monday? Tell Me About It........

Say, what? It's Monday already? Not one of my favourite day of the week but you will not believe it if I tell you that it is one of the day in a week that I love, like Friday, when I took picture of this beauty at Tuas Grassland close to my work place...and Saturday being my favourite day of the week...*hehe*

It's always interesting to see people especially at work "go missing". On most Mondays, you will see, at least here where I work, colleagues who would either be on medical leave, annual leave, or simply AWOL!! What amazed me even more is that, when I do not drive to work that is, the train is less crowded, work seems lesser and easier.........or is it just plain me psyching myself?? *wink*
Dyna was late for school today, period. Called Dyna earlier, she sounded alright but she reminded me to call Saro because "I have something to tell Kakak Saro.........". She sure is making excuses to speak to Saro *;-P

Nothing out of the ordinary happens this evening - we had Mee Rebus for dinner. Usually people have Mee Rebus for breakfast right?.......hmm I am not complaining though; was Nylie's or Ili's choice....actually I really could not remember who suggested it. Anyway, thanks to Zac, my little sis who'd come over to help us cook dinner.

Have to go sleep earlier tonite; Im beat.

Never'll Forget You.........

Yesterday was a trying period for us. Dyna kept asking when Saro is coming back. If only she knew that Saro was never coming back, at least not so soon or in the near future.

We're no longer as privileged, even with Sri - our new domestic helper around. From now onwards, I've to plan most of our meals; tough!! considering I've never done it for ages. Sri on the other hand is trying her very best to cope - a far cry from her first week with us.

Fortunately Ili, Nylie and Uyop have been quite cooperative and understanding. We're trying to distract Dyna's attention amidst the activities at home, she's never stop asking me to call Saro. Here's picture of the drawing of Saro, and herself, frowning - a perfect picture of my "broken hearted" little girl....................missing her dear "kakak".
Dyna is one tough girl and she is handling the situation rather well. Though I know that she will get over it in a matter of time; my hope is that she will always remembers and loves Saro - never to forget and erase the memories Saro left behind. I want her to remember the happy moments and hold on to the sweet memories forever.......

We're Gonna Miss Her

It's Saro's last day of work today. Sending her off to the airport was a turmoil; part of me wants her to be home, happily reunite with her family BUT part of me wants her to stay, and it was difficult for her too, I think.............;-(
Saro has been part of our family and will always be. She has served us well, exceptionally well..... and for the last 11 years she has been like my backbone. Oh I am really going to miss her......and only GOD knows how she's touched and changed our lives, especially mine. She's my confidante and a very efficient personal assistant in every aspect of the word.
Our journey home was a heart wrenching one. Ili and Dyna were in tears; could not see Nylie from my view but my guess is, she was too. We all adore Saro very much, if only she knew how much I selfishly wish she could be with us longer, better still forever *^* I've never question Uyop but I guess he felt the same too.

I know the fact that saying GOODBYE is never easy. The truth is, it's harder than I'd ever thought; my heart could not take it!!!

We're really really going to miss her...............and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours. I pray that GOD will always protect her and family, and that she will always be happy and successful, here and hereafter

Nylie's 11th Birthday & Saro's Farewell...........

Nylie turns 11........how sweet. We've asked her 'bout what kind of celebration she wants for her birthday. Her choice was ; BBQ dinner - so we went to Seoul Garden; kills 2 birds with 1 stone (BBQ and steamboat dinner; Nylie's Birthday and Saro's Farewell).... *wink*

We had steamboat and BBQ (mini ones). Reserved table for 9, rather small group compared to what we had on Nylie's 10th birthday @ MacDonald's.

Funny thing is we only ate the birthday cake today.....*we're all so well fed that our tummies had no more room for more food...*

Ili got her more than one gift; 3 to be exact..haha...though I think Nylie would be more than happy even if she gets none .*??* We gave her a Marin.....

Happy Birthday Nylie - if you're reading this; I sure hope you'd blog on your happy event ........& happy riding...*Big Hugs*

Theme Park 2008 - Winner Takes It All

My dearest princesses with their winnings.....though it was raining that day, we've had such great fun.

As you know this is my 1st blog for 2008; an encouragement GIFT for Ili and Nylie; and motivations for me to blog more too.

Come on girls...........!! I would love to read more on your blogs - please, please....*he he*

See I can do it, so can you *wink* Will write more.....*;p
